What Is The Difference Between Aventus & Aventus Cologne?

Aventus, a bold, aromatic Eau de Parfum, first burst onto the scene in 2010, soon to become The House of Creed’s most revered fragrance. Inspired to create a new legend, in 2019 the house released Aventus Cologne as a fresher counterpart to original Aventus and a rebellious twist on the cult classic.

While both fragrances embody The House of Creed’s 260-year legacy of harnessing the finest natural ingredients to craft highly original perfumes, they offer entirely unique olfactive experiences. Read on to uncover what sets Aventus and Aventus Cologne apart and find out which of these powerhouse fragrances is right for you.

Launched in 2010, Aventus has become the House of Creed’s most acclaimed men’s fragrance to date. Fast forward to May 2019, we saw the release of Olivier Creed’s latest addition to the Aventus Collection, Aventus Cologne. A much fresher, urban take on the original legendary scent, Aventus Cologne has snapped up approval from around the globe as well as scooping up some UK awards from the likes of GQ and Selfridges in its first few months of release.

But what is the difference between Aventus & Aventus Cologne?

If you’ve been a discerning Aventus wearer for years, perhaps you’ve been asking what really is the difference between Aventus & Aventus Cologne? The answer not only lies in the ingredients but also their inspiration. Celebrating strength, power and success, Aventus is a bold and aromatic Fougère that boasts a fruity opening blended with a woody and leathery dry down. Apple, blackcurrant, pineapple and bergamot give Aventus its addictively enticing grand entrance. Aromatic juniper berries, birch, patchouli and jasmine make way for the seductively rich and long-lasting base of vanilla, musk, oakmoss and The House of Creed's signature ingredient of ambergris notes". Not for the discreet, Aventus will leave the room hypnotised by the aroma of your every move – the ultimate olfactive experience from the House of Creed.

Aventus Cologne is very much the fresher counterpart to its forerunner, Aventus. Aventus Cologne shares some of Aventus’ addictive ingredients; birch, patchouli and musk, but interprets them in a completely different way. Whilst Aventus is your richer counterpart – perfect for evening time and making a fragrance statement, Aventus Cologne is ideal for everyday wear. But don’t be underestimated by the name – Aventus Cologne shares the same concentration as Aventus, making it an Eau de Parfum of Millesime quality, not an Eau de Cologne. The name simply symbolises Olivier Creed’s inspiration behind the fragrance and his drive to capture a revitalising, modern take on Aventus that complements the legendary men’s creation as well as the female counterpart, Aventus for Her.

Olivier created his nod to a classic hespederic Eau de Cologne with the use of citrusy mandarin in the head notes, blending it with ginger for a unique spicy twist right from the get-go. It is this energising opening to the fragrance than resonates with the history of a classic cologne. Patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver and pink peppercorn mingle together in the heart notes, providing a fresh and green seamless step into the base. Unlike a cologne, Aventus Cologne boasts a long-lasting woody and leathery dry down thanks to notes of styrax, birch, musk and tonka bean. Equally addictive, Aventus Cologne will have you spritzing liberally all day long.
